What is the AI Assistant?

The AI Assistant in Fast Memo is powered by Qwen 2.5, an open-source language model that runs entirely on your device. It helps you write, organize, and manage your notes with smart actions like title generation, summarization, text formatting, and more.

Available Models

Fast Memo supports four different model sizes. The app automatically detects your device's RAM and disables models that exceed your device's capacity.

Qwen 2.5 0.5B

Min. RAM: 2 GB
Context: 2K tokens
Best for: Quick actions

Qwen 2.5 1.5B

Min. RAM: 3 GB
Context: 4K tokens
Best for: Balanced use

Qwen 2.5 3B

Min. RAM: 5 GB
Context: 8K tokens
Best for: Better quality

Qwen 2.5 7B

Min. RAM: 8 GB
Context: 16K tokens
Best for: Code analysis

How to Set Up

Open Settings
Go to Settings in Fast Memo and find the AI Assistant section.
Choose a model
Select the model that matches your device's capabilities. Models that require more RAM than your device has will be shown as disabled.
Download the model
Tap the download button. Larger models (7B) use multi-part downloads to avoid issues with large files. A Wi-Fi connection is recommended.
Start using AI actions
Open any note and look for the AI button in the editor. Tap it to see all available actions for your note type.

Available AI Actions

The AI Assistant offers contextual actions depending on the type of note you are editing. Actions that require a larger model show a minimum size label.

Generate Title

Automatically generates a relevant title based on the content of your note.

Summarize

Creates a concise summary of your note's content.

Continue Writing

Generates a natural continuation of your text based on context.

Format Text

Detects and improves the structure of your text without altering its meaning.

Suggest Checklist

Generates checklist items based on the content of your to-do note.

Suggest Category

Recommends the most appropriate category for your note based on its content.

Explain Code

Provides a detailed explanation of selected code snippets in code notes.

Requires 7B model

Add Comments

Automatically adds inline comments to your code for better documentation.
